Tilapia skins contain collagen type one necessary for healing of scars and burns on the skin of both humans and furry animals. Compared to other convectional treatments for burns, tilapia skins are less painful, more effective and up to *5% less costly.

Samaki safi processes the tilapia skins from fish farms in Kenya that would otherwise be disposed for medical use. 
Also used to make bags, shoes and clothes.
